After thinking about the type of content I’ve been delivering to my audience lately, I’ve decided to make a few changes with my future blog posts. So, instead of writing paragraphs of what you can expect from Bumbleweek, I’ll just get to the point.
Bumbleweek will deliver ideas that’ll encourage you to think, believe, and try.
- Fashion content will encourage you guys to experiment and play around with your style.
- Lifestyle content will encourage you to expand on your thinking and open your eyes to different ideas.
- Everything Else content will tap into topics of food, travel, and mini research projects, like #GirlBoss.
Altogether, I’ll try to keep all of my posts short and simple because I don’t want to take too much time out of your guys’ busy lives. Thanks for reading, and I hope to have you all back here for next week.
Books, Starbucks, and good looking backpacks, these are only a few items that get college student through the day. I may be superficial for saying this, but the appearance of a backpack is important. Listen, I love the feeling I get out of wearing an amazing outfit, but I also love the feeling I get when I get a good grade on an exam. Unfortunately, some days I don’t have enough time to pick out an outfit, so I end up grabbing random items from my closet. Just like bad hair days, bad outfit days exist too. So you may ask, how can I avoid this type of fashion faux pas? The answer is, find an appealing backpack! This way, all the attention will be drawn to your backpack, and your outfit will most likely be overshadowed. Also, pick a backpack that matches your everyday style, so it won’t be too obvious that you’re trying to cover up your outfit. School is stressful, so don’t torture yourself if you can’t put together an awesome outfit in 10 minutes. Instead, look for a backpack that will save you from having another bad outfit day.
Chokers and bandana scarfs… Who would have thought that these trends would actually turn out to be a hit? Truthfully I wasn’t very thrilled when chokers came back in style this year. I thought that they should have stayed in the past, along with 80’s legwarmers. However, I was fascinated once I saw the different forms chokers were incorporated in today’s modern fashion. Along the way, I also realized that small scarfs/bandanas were also being used as statement pieces. This statement trend isn’t just being used for raving, instead it’s also being included in daytime outfits. So, what can we get out of these two trends? Is it worth spending money on a trend that may end up fading in few months from now? All I can say for now is that I’m not sure how long these two trends will be around for, but let’s take advantage of them and integrate them into our own style. They may not be here tomorrow but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t give them a try. Plus I doubt these two trends could turn out to be any worse than 80’s legwarmers LOL.
Make a statement! Do you know what fascinates me about fashion? You can literally dress like a whole different person and no one will have a clue. Obviously we’re advised to be true to who we are, but I’m the type of person who likes playing with her style. In this case, accessorizing can also vibe up one’s outfit. Sometimes a nice and subtle necklace will be enough to complete a look, but making a statement with accessories can also work. First, look for a nice chunky necklace you’ve been storing away. Second, wear something casual, something that won’t overshadow your statement necklace. Trust me, you don’t want to overdress and over-accessorize at the same time. However, if you do end up falling victim to this fashion no-no, don’t worry because there’s always room for improvement (like my writing LOL). Most of all, remember to experiment and have fun with your accessories!
